What is CTET?

The Central Board of Secondary Education conducts the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) for candidates who wish to become teachers in Central Government schools such as Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti and other schools accepting CTET scores.

The exam is held twice a year and is one of the most important teacher eligibility examinations in India.

Types of CTET Papers

CTET consists of two papers:

PaperFor Teaching Classes

Candidates who wish to teach Classes I to VIII can appear for both papers.


Eligibility Criteria

For Paper I (Classes I to V)

Candidates must have:

  • Passed Senior Secondary (12th) with at least 50% marks
    AND
  • Passed or appearing in Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or Diploma in Education (D.Ed)

OR

  • Graduation with B.Ed qualification (as per latest rules)

For Paper II (Classes VI to VIII)

Candidates must have:

  • Graduation degree
    and
  • B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification

The Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) on Sunday, 06-09-2026.

सीटीईटी परीक्षा 06 सप्टेंबर ला होणार आहे.

केंद्रीय माध्यमिक शिक्षण मंडळाकडून (सीबीएसई) सीटीईटी परीक्षा संदर्भातील परिपत्रक प्रसिद्ध करण्यात आले आहे. त्यानुसार येत्या 06 सप्टेंबर 2026 रोजी केंद्रीय शिक्षक पात्रता परीक्षा म्हणजेच सीटीईटी परीक्षा आयोजित केली जाणार आहे. देशभरातील 132 शहरांत आणि वीस भाषांत ही परीक्षा घेतली जाणार आहे.

सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाच्या निर्णयानुसार सर्वच शिक्षकांना टीईटी परीक्षा बंधनकारक करण्यात आली आहे.

अनेक उमेदवार महाराष्ट्र राज्य परीक्षा परिषदेच्या माध्यमातून घेतल्या जाणाऱ्या टीईटी परीक्षेसाठी प्रविष्ट होतात. तर काही उमेदवार हे सीबीएसईकडून आयोजित केल्या जाणाऱ्या सीटीईटी परीक्षेसाठी प्रविष्ट होतात.

सीबीएसईकडून सीटीईटीची परीक्षेची तारीख जाहीर करण्यात आली. पेपर क्रमांक एक व पेपर क्रमांक दोन एकाच दिवशी घेतले जाणार आहेत.

सीटीईटी संदर्भातील माहिती https://ctet.nic.in या संकेतस्थळावर उपलब्ध केली आहे.

परीक्षा, अभ्यासक्रम, भाषा, पात्रता, परीक्षा शुल्क, परीक्षेसाठी निश्चित केली जाणारी शहरे या संदर्भातील सविस्तर माहिती उपलब्ध करून दिली आहे.

परीक्षा अर्ज भरण्यापूर्वी उमेदवारांनी अधिकृत दिलेल्या संकेतस्थळाला भेट देणे गरजेचे आहे.

Candidates can apply for CTET-SEPTEMBER 2026 “ONLINE” through CTET website.

उमेदवार CTET-सप्टेंबर, 2026 साठी CTET वेबसाइटद्वारे “ऑनलाइन” अर्ज करू शकतात.

तारीख: जाहीर झाली आहे.


Eligibility:-

अर्ज करण्यासाठी आवश्यक बाबी:

i) To go through the Information Bulletin carefully with the entire requirement therein.

ii) To satisfy eligibility to appear in the examination.

iii) To submit Online application by giving full particulars by accessing the CTET official website https://ctet.nic.in.

iv) To write complete mailing address with Postal PIN Code at the time of applying.

v) Before submission of application form, decide the mode of payment of fee.

vi) To keep the Confirmation Page along.

vii) If a candidate submits online more than one application, his/her candidature shall be liable to be cancelled, and the candidate may also be debarred for future examination(s). No communication will be sent in this regard.

Eligibility Criteria

The persons possessing minimum qualifications for the teaching staff in accordance with the following are eligible for appearing in the CTET:

National Council for Teacher Education (Determination of Minimum Qualifications for Persons to be recruited as Education Teachers and Physical Education Teachers in Pre-Primary, Primary, Upper Primary, Secondary, Senior Secondary or Intermediate Schools or Colleges) Regulations as amended and notified from time to time.

राष्ट्रीय शिक्षक शिक्षण परिषद (पूर्व-प्राथमिक, प्राथमिक, उच्च प्राथमिक, माध्यमिक, वरिष्ठ माध्यमिक किंवा मध्यवर्ती शाळा किंवा महाविद्यालयांमध्ये शिक्षण शिक्षक आणि शारीरिक शिक्षण शिक्षक म्हणून भरती केल्या जाणाऱ्या व्यक्तींसाठी किमान पात्रतेचे निर्धारण) नियमांमध्ये वेळोवेळी सुधारणा आणि अधिसूचित केले जातात.

Minimum qualifications laid down in the Recruitment Rules for the teachers by the Appropriate Government where the school is situated or the Recruitment Rules for the teachers of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangthan or Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.

शाळा जेथे स्थित आहे अशा योग्य सरकारने शिक्षकांसाठी भरती नियमांमध्ये किंवा केंद्रीय विद्यालय संघटना किंवा नवोदय विद्यालय समितीच्या शिक्षकांसाठी भरती नियमांमध्ये नमूद केलेली किमान पात्रता आवश्यक आहे.

The candidate should satisfy his/her eligibility before applying and shall be personally responsible in case he/she is not eligible to apply as per the given eligibility criteria.

उमेदवाराने अर्ज करण्यापूर्वी त्याची/तिची पात्रता पूर्ण केली पाहिजे आणि दिलेल्या पात्रता निकषांनुसार अर्ज करण्यास पात्र नसल्यास तो/ती वैयक्तिकरित्या जबाबदार असेल.


Structure and Content of CET:

All questions in CTET will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with four alternatives out of which one answer will be most appropriate. Each carrying one mark and there will be no negative marking.

There will be two papers of CТЕТ.

(i) Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.

(ii) Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.

Note: A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).
