This ID helps store, track, and transfer a student’s academic records digitally across schools, colleges, and universities.

Creating an APAAR ID (Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry), also known as the “One Nation, One Student ID,” is a straightforward process.

APAAR ID is a 12-digit unique ID that stores your academic credits, degrees, and certificates digitally.

There are two primary ways to create it: through your educational institution or online via DigiLocker/ABC portal.

Method 1: Through your School or College

Most schools and colleges in India are now facilitating this process for their students.

Parental Consent: For students under 18, the school will provide a parental consent form. Parents must sign this to authorize the use of Aadhaar for the ID.
Submission: Submit the signed form along with your Aadhaar card details to the school administration.
Verification: The school verifies your details (Name, DOB, and Gender) against the UDISE+ (Unified District Information System for Education) portal.
Generation: Once verified, the system generates the APAAR ID, which is then automatically linked to your DigiLocker account.

Method 2: Self-Registration (Online)

If you are a college student or want to do it yourself, follow these steps:

Phase 1: Sign up on DigiLocker

Visit digilocker.gov.in or download the app.
Register using your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
Complete the Aadhaar OTP verification to verify your identity.

Phase 2: Create APAAR/ABC ID

Visit ABC Portal: Go to the www.abc.gov.in website.
Login: Click on ‘My Account’ and select ‘Student’.
Link DigiLocker: Log in using your DigiLocker credentials.
Enter Academic Details: * Select your Institution type (University, College, or School).

1. Provide an Identity Type (e.g., Roll Number, Registration Number, or “New Admission” if you don’t have one yet).
Submit: Click ‘Submit’. Your APAAR ID card will be generated and displayed on the screen.
